Benefits of Telework
Environmental Benefits
Telework is fast becoming part of a business culture that values “green thinking”. It allows for shortened commutes, which drastically cuts carbon emissions and promotes a healthier environment.
Recent studies indicate that if 33 million Americans worked from home, emissions could be cut by nearly 67 million tons annually. And gasoline consumption would drop by 7.5 trillion gallons each year, saving Americans $110 million a day.
On Telework Day 2009, Virginia teleworkers kept a combined 82.77 tons of pollutants out of the air. Yes—that was just one day of teleworking!
